WordPress website from Plesk is not accessible due to the incorrect website URL

Symptoms

Unable to access WordPress website with the following error message:

504 Gateway Time-out
nginx
WordPress website example.com redirects to https://example.com/.trash URL.

Cause

Incorrect siteurl is stored in the database.

Resolution

Log into Plesk.
Change site URL to https://example.com at WordPress > example.com > Update Site URL page:
