Symptoms

It is not possible to update custom (paid) plugins and/or themes in Plesk in WordPress > example.com > Updates, with the following warning or error:
Selected items were updated with errors:
-Unable to update plugin 'all-in-one-seo-pack-pro_3.3.4_2', details: One of the common causes of this error is plugin or theme requiring a license to be updated. Log in to WordPress admin dashboard and try updating this plugin or theme there to discover more details about the issue.
The following errors have occurred while updating WordPress installation #1 ('https://www.example.com'):
* Unable to update theme 'Total', details: Error: No themes updated. -
Updating a WordPress instance with custom (paid) plugins and/or themes using Smart Updates may fail with the following error:
Website "example.com" (https://www.example.com): Smart Update could not be completed automatically. Please try running the update manually. Details: Unable to update plugin 'astra-pro-sites3.1.172`3cc0d239-96af-4c04-93ed-7ac739da82cb', details: Unable to find an appropriate plugin version name = 'astra-pro-sites' sourceId = '2' version = '3.1.17' guid = '3cc0d239-96af-4c04-93ed-7ac739da82cb'
Cause
The plugin/theme from the error message is a paid one, a license is required to update such plugin/theme.
Currently, WP Toolkit can update only non-paid plugins and themes. Paid themes and plugins should be updated manually directly in the WordPress Admin dashboard.
Resolution

Log in to the WordPress Admin dashboard of the affected instance.

Update the affected plugin/theme manually from the dashboard.
