Monitoring extension in Plesk is broken: The System Health Monitor component was not found.

Symptoms

• The Monitoring extension shows the following error message:

  The System Health Monitor component was not found.
  

  ---

  Parallels.Diagnostics.HealthMonitoringService - ParallelsHealthMonitor can not be started: initialization failed.
  System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
  at Parallels.Diagnostics.ObjectFactory.CreateProvider()
  at Parallels.Diagnostics.PerformanceMonitor..ctor(MonitorConfiguration configuration)
  at Parallels.Diagnostics.HealthMonitoringService.InitializeMonitor(Object state)

• When clicking the "Fix installation" button, the operation fails with this error message:

  An error occurred while fixing the installation: The System Health Monitor component was not found. Please reinstall the component via the following console command: `plesk sbin ai.exe remove --components health-monitoring && plesk sbin ai.exe add --components health-monitoring && plesk bin extension -i monitoring`

•  Parallels.MonitorSrv.exe generates high CPU utilization.

Cause

Health-Monitoring installation is corrupted.

Resolution

Reinstall the extension:

1. Connect to the Plesk server via RDP.

2. Start a command prompt as an Administrator.

3. Run the following command to reinstall Health-Monitoring:

   C:> plesk sbin ai.exe remove --components health-monitoring && plesk sbin ai.exe add --components health-monitoring && plesk bin extension -i monitoring
