Plesk

Log browser shows the message “The server has been restarted” when server restarts have not been made recently

Symptoms

Cause

These notifications are false positives casued by a known Plesk bug for the Log Browser extension with ID #EXTPLESK-5141.

This bug is planned to be resolved in future versions of Plesk. This will be indicated with the corresponding bug ID in the change log for Plesk Obsidian.

Resolution

Until the bug is resolved, the following workaround can be applied:

  1. Log into your server via SSH as the root user

  2. Open the /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/panel.ini file with your favorite command-line text editor

  3. Disable the server reboot notifications completely by adding the following lines to the file:

    [ext-log-browser]
    sendRebootNotifications = 0

    This will disable the server restart notifications that are coming from the Log Browser extension in Plesk.
