We know that VMware is the company that’s been in the virtualization space the longest, and many people would still say that VMware is still leading the pack in server virtualization – including in the extent to which users rate it highly.
However, while VMware provides an excellent product range it does come very feature-packed and some people would say that VMware has become too complex, so people running smaller businesses or techies who are not virtualization experts can have trouble understanding the VMware product suite. Furthermore Linux users sometimes say that for Linux virtualization there may be better options than the VMware suite of products.
VMware is also one of the more expensive solutions on the market: indeed it has always been known that VMware delivers an excellent product – but at a relatively high price. Nonetheless in very big enterprise environments money is rarely a consideration and here VMware remains the leading server virtualization product.
